Take a Step Back into History
Have you ever dreamt of staying in a real Castle? Hidden away on the edge of the Cotswolds, Tudor Castle takes you back into the past. Built in 1521, when King Henry VIII’s cousin, Edward Stafford, was accused of treason, the King confiscated the Castle and eventually brought his second wife, Anne Boleyn there as part of their honeymoon tour.
From its giant Tudor chimneys, expansive battlements, rising turrets, and Tudor décor, you really feel as if you are stepping back in time as you pass through the portcullis and into halls lined with ornate woodwork and shining suits of armour. Take a walk through the Great Hall which has hosted balls, feasts, and celebrations for over six centuries. Lined with rich tapestries, dark beamed ceilings and stone walls, you’ll get a glimpse of what castle living was once like.
Sleep in Luxury
With its 27 bedrooms, you can sleep in pure luxury. Each bedroom is unique with either a coronet or fabulous four-poster bed. Every chamber has a mix of modern style and historical elegance with opulent bathrooms which include everything you may need including hairdryers. The rooms also feel much cosier than they would have done during Tudor times!
Then there are the luxurious Tower Suite and Gatehouse Suite which can be reached via a winding spiral staircase of 77 steps. Both rooms include fabulous Tudor furnishings and look out onto the breathtaking Gloucestershire countryside surrounding the castle.
The Perfect Getaway
The Castle’s size makes it the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It can cater to over 60 guests making it the perfect place for a wedding, corporate retreat or a family getaway. You can celebrate and dine in style in the dining hall next to a roaring fire in the huge fireplace, to keep you warm during the winter months.
Take a stroll and relax in the castle’s famous gardens with their green lawns and pristine flowerbeds. The castle has something for everyone.
