Luxury mansion in the heart of Scotland
Built in 1734, the beautiful Kirtle Water Mansion sits in the heart of the Scottish Lowlands. Its breathtaking gardens span over 11 acres. This place is perfect for a restful getaway, a corporate retreat or a romantic wedding.
You feel as if you’re walking back in time as you stare at the Georgian character of the house. Inside the drawing room speaks of the Regency era with its bow windows and splendour with its beautiful plasterwork ceiling of fans, garlands and scrollwork.
Perfect for parties
After experiencing the house from outside, you pass into the black and white marble entrance hall with its ornate oak panelling, marble columns and roaring wood burner. Then, through the portrait gallery with three formal rooms, including the dining room and the ballroom, complete with its own private bar full of Scottish whiskies and every other drink you need.
The dining room can seat 100 with an intimate and romantic atmosphere. A lovely Italian black marble mirror, over 100 years old, adds to the occasion.
After a long day, you can relax in the sitting room, enjoy a nice tea or coffee or watch TV. There are traditional and video games available for both children and adults alike.
Sleep in comfort
There are 21 luxurious bedrooms in the house, each individually designed and unique. The two bridal suites offer sweeping views over the lawns and formal gardens, making it the perfect romantic getaway. All bedrooms were recently renovated by the same interior design company which designed the Goring Hotel bedrooms - the choice of the Duchess of Cambridge on the eve of her wedding.
On the ground floor is a universal room which is fully accessible so the person staying there won’t have to go up or down stairs, and it has its own wet room.
The ideal location
Set in rolling acres of parkland, you can enjoy long country walks, mountain biking, kayaking, golf and clay pigeon shooting. The historic town of Gretna Green is only 7 miles away and close to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Making this the perfect location to enjoy exploring Scotland.
